How much money would you give the bride and groom if you are not attending the wedding?

This is so a personal question. But since this is a forum... Well S$100 up would be acceptable. What I do most often is I buy gift instead of givin out cash.
but now the trend is couples prefer money.

Do you think it's OK to ask for money as a wedding gift?

We already have a house and had been living together for a couple of years before we got married, so we didn't need all the things you normally ask for. We tried Debenham's and Amazon wish lists, but in the end asked for money towards our honeymoon with a Trailfinders gift list.

We thought it was OK, but we know some people think it's a bit cheeky. What do you think?

Asking money for wedding gift hmmm sounds very aggressive hahahhaa.
I think the good idea is to TRAVEL together spend more time , enjoy your moment , We just dont work, eat and Die.

For me I think travelling will be the best gift :) keep us updated.

It's either a hong bao or a gift. It also depends on how well, I know the person. Classmates that I'm not close to, a $100 red packet or a usefil house hold gift. Dearer friends tend to get more $$$. Maybe something from Tiffany's.

For people I have not heard from in a long time, I will tell them that I am overseas.

It's easier to give cash. In terms of gifts, they might not like it or find it redundant.
